BGRM M.O.W Speeder #11
A four man Fairmont track speeder used by the museum maintenance of way department to get to small jobs that do not require the use of the museums hi-rail truck. A project currently on hiatus calls for using this speeder as a way to carry a limited number of passengers the entire length of the museums trackage to Tyrone.
Illinois Central Fairmont "Putt Putt" Track Speeder
Another Fairmont 4 man track speeder. This car is special in that it is a model powered by a belt drive instead of the usual gearbox and runs using a single piston engine. This single piston engine gave off a cartoonish putting noise which is why these cars are dubbed "Putt-Putts". Today this car is on static display but future plans may include turning this car into a passenger trailer for speeder #11.
Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Track Speeder
Oldest speeder in the BGRM collection.
BGRM #24 1/2 Weedsprayer
Homebuilt device used by the museum to spray the line for weeds.
Air Compressor Car
BGRM M.O.W. Hi-Railer #1
The maintenance of way departments main piece of equipment. This is a special Ford pick-up truck equipt to run on rails. While #1 has given the museum years of good service the museum wishes to retire her. If anyone knows a person willing to donate a late 80's Ford model pickup to the museum please contact us.
