The Bluegrass Railroad Museum Inc. announces our "Back to the River" project funded in part by a Transportation Enhancement Grant

The Bluegrass Railroad Museum Inc, on behalf of the Woodford County Fiscal Court opened bids for rehabilitation and historic restoration of 5.3 miles of railroad track relating to its “Back to the River” historical restoration project "BGRM13 on 12/21/2011.

Bid scoring algorithm was used to evaluate bids and an award has been made. Some bids were not received by the 10 am deadline and were not considered in the scoring. The complete bid results are available by clicking the button below.

Woodford Fiscal Court on behalf of Bluegrass Railroad Museum Inc. will open bids on Wednesday December21. The low bidder will be presented with a contract for services which will include the terms and conditions in the original RFB BGRM12 as amended or clarified by the two question and answer documents published on or prior to 12/14/2011 (above), the vendors bid document, and the additional Federal Provisions above.

The photo at left taken August 9, 2010 shows volunteers working to level ballast to support ties for the new side tracks. When complete the tracks will provide the capability of loading passengers directly off the platform giving better access to our excursion train for our handicapped visitors. It will also provide additional space for display of unique historically important pieces of railroad equipment.
